I don't know about you, but I've had some low spots in my relationship with God and have to confess that over the past few weeks I've been struggling.  I love God and that never changes but what does fluctuate is my devotion to Him; how much time I spend with other Christians, time spent reading my Bible and time spent in prayer - I haven't done much of those things at all recently, I feel it and I think it shows in my life.

I blog here as a way of keeping my relationship with God on track and to share the things I'm learning along the way, I hope I never come across as having the perfect relationship with God or as always being strong in my faith? A friend whom I shared with how I was feeling at the moment, admitted that she thought my faith was really strong which was a little discouraging to her as her relationship fluctuates continually, she was pleased to know that I'm just like everyone else!

So I'm being honest and vulnerable in sharing my 'dry patch' with you, because we need to be encouraged that this happens to everyone!  I can't just share the good/strong moments of my relationship with God, I need to be honest to share the struggles too.

How am I moving on from my dry patch?

* We are between churches at the moment which is difficult as we don't have strong connections with other Christians.  I am making sure I keep in touch with Godly women via the internet - it's not the same as in person, but it helps.

* Attending church.  We don't have a new church to call home yet, but we are attending.  Praising God with other believers and hearing good Bible based teaching is a real encouragement.

* Praying for others.  I'm trying to focus my prayers on the needs of others rather than my own needs.

* Worship.  I find listening to worship music, or even just reading the words to songs really helpful.  Actually I'm finding that the 'old' hymns are fantastic as the words are so solid and hold such powerful messages.  My blog friend Nancy posts hymn words every Sunday, she has lately reminded me of some wonderful songs of praise.

These are just a few things I'm doing to shift my dry patch into a more fruitful relationship with God, if anyone wants to share their tips please leave a comment - I for one would appreciate it :)

I will actually not be posting much myself over the next few weeks but that's because I'd pre-arranged for something a little different to occur here, the timing is pretty perfect though, so stay tuned for that, my very next post will explain.

Blessings and Love,

I am the same way some times I am feeling pretty solid in my faith, while other times I feel somewhat lost. It's so great to be able to connect with other women online who are strong in their faith. It helps to inspire and encourage me. I love the old hymns too, reminds me of old time tent revivals.

moving church is such a hard time - thankfully we found our home church in the 2nd one we tried.
Do you listen to pod casts of your favourite preachers? I find a little Chris Caine or Joyce Myer great if I need a little extra.
hope this doesn't last too long xx
